Welcome
We are The St. George Center for the Arts and Sciences, where creativity meets curiosity. We are dedicated to providing accessible, high-quality Arts and STEM programming for kids and teens across Saint George and upper Dorchester County. Our mission is to inspire the next generation of innovators and artists by offering hands-on learning experiences that bridge the gap between imagination and technical skill. Our participants will discover the Arts and Sciences through building, designing, collaborating, and ultimately bringing themselves and their ideas to life.
No student will be turned away due to an inability to pay.
Babes in Toyland - Behind The Scenes
Show Dates: December 4th & 5th at the Lourie Theater
The cast and crew do a LOT of work behind the scenes, and we
would love to share a little bit of that with you! In our first video, and the
videos that will follow, you will see lots of behind-the-scenes work. One of
those things is what we call a read-through. A read-through is just what it
sounds like: the cast reads through a certain part of the script at the
beginning of rehearsal so we can get a feel for what we will be rehearsing that
night.
Another part of behind-the-scenes work—which is probably the
most important part—is our backstage crew. There are multiple jobs for the
crew, such as set design, props, and costumes! Even though they were goofing
off a little bit in the video, they are great at what they do, and they help
the play come to life.
WE ARE ALL ABOUT TEAMWORK... because, think about it: if
we didn't have people performing the characters, we wouldn't have Babes in
Toyland. And if we didn't have all the frilly costumes, colorful sets, and
props, we also wouldn't have Babes in Toyland.
Make sure that you stay updated with our website, Facebook
page, and Instagram page so you can see more behind-the-scenes videos and stay
up-to-date on Babes in Toyland as we continue to progress.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our
current production. We hope to see you at the play in December!
